Welcome to Excellence in Education & Training (EET). Established in 2008, EET is a registered training organisation based in the central business district of Adelaide, South Australia.
At EET, we believe that Vocational Education and Training (VET) enables students to acquire skills and knowledge for work through a nationally recognised industry-developed training package or accredited course. Undertaking VET benefits students' exploration of a variety of career pathways; it is not just reserved for a pathway within the trades (e.g. plumbing, automotive, and construction). Students enrolled at EET can complete VET qualifications in a diverse range of industries and includes practical, hands-on learning, and it can lead to excellent career opportunities in many fields.
EET recognises that the VET system in Australia plays a central role in the development of skills for the Australian workforce and makes a significant contribution to workforce participation, productivity levels, individual’s life chances and economic and social development. Completing a higher education or VET qualification is becoming increasingly important to access jobs and grow successful careers.
As a Registered Training Provider, EET believes that Training providers are at the centre of the VET system and are engaged with multiple stakeholders. As a Provider we need to meet government and regulator accountability requirements, deliver training that meets current and future skills as demanded by industry, and deliver the skills required by students for their current or future jobs (Misko 2017).
In addition, as an RTO we expect to maintain and grow our market share in an evolving market. The distinction between quality VET and a quality VET system is therefore of particular importance to EET as we aim to deliver a quality VET programme which is enabled by the quality VET system in which we operate in.
This belief is best reflected in the Quality in the VET system – shared responsibility diagram below.
We embrace goals and values around maximising each students learning potential and achievements.
EET delivers a range of nationally accredited vocational qualifications and accredited courses.
We also offer program for youth enrolled at school needing assistance to achieve their SACE requirements. Our aim is to meet each students learning goals towards achieving employment or further study pathways.
EET has extensive networks that extend across Job Services Australia (JSA) and Disability Employment Services (DES) providers, private, independent and public schools, Industry Skills Councils, employers, community and non-for-profit organisations and government departments.
Our student cohort is diverse, and learners range from youth, adults, people of non-English speaking backgrounds (CaLD or EALD) and individuals with barriers to learning. Our professional and committed trainers employ a holistic approach that aims to prepare students for their job, career and life.
Excellence in Educational Training (EET) offers a range of accredited foundation skills courses, pre-vocational courses and those focussing on general education and accredited vocational education and training.
Furthermore, EET has a very strong presence in providing flexible learning options for secondary school (FLO) students disengaged from learning.
We believe that individual confidence and aspirations together with a with a sense of achievement is as important as developing the necessary workplace skills or competencies.
It is an exciting time for EET as we partner with South Australia's new independent secondary school - Specialised Assistance School for Youth (SASY).
Our students include:
Flexible Learning Options (FLO) and other SACE students currently enrolled at a secondary school
Early school leavers and youth.
People of non-English speaking backgrounds (Working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) adolescents
English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD)
Parents and carers needing a course or qualification to return to work;
People with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia.
We provide additional learning support for students with learning disabilities or learning barriers; and individuals academically disadvantaged.
EET specialises in general education, foundation and pre-vocational skills courses that build language, literacy and numeracy skills and prepare learners for further training and employment for students in Year 8 - 12.
Mackenzie (2015, p.106 ) aptly stated that:
The VET system is designed with the student at the centre of the system so their choice of course and provider is crucial to the sector. In theory students are attracted to quality training, fuelled by competition between providers to deliver training that leads to new or better employment or other positive outcomes.
